El Coke,
Having been so involved in the rebuild of the 315 and being close to the 42 and probably having had a chance to give the 42 a once over, which would have been a more difficult rebuild? The one y'all are nearly done with on the 315 or to have tackled the RGS 42?
In the case of the 42 is the frame the main issue or are there other serious problems with the locomotive?
In order to rebuild the 42, besides needing several truckloads of cash, would it be necessary to replace the frame, or can it be successfully repaired?
Last set of questions tonight, I promise. Just what happens to a locomotive when it breaks its frame and it is out on the line operating? What is the most common cause, other than the fact that steam locomotives beat the crap out of themselves just by operating, of broken frames on narrow gauge steam locomotives?
