PRSL wrote -"There is no question that the Meadow River Lumber Co was a true logger. And it ran until May 25, 1971. Log cars were loaded with a loader that day (by Georgia-Pacific Co). Logs were draged to the loader by cats from nearby stumps. I photoed the last spur built to reach some logs in 1970 and photos are around showing the track crew building that track just for logs. The trains were run with 70-ton GE engines."
Buuuut was this some last minute salvage railroad logging. It's still important, but to meet the "test" it would have had to have been logging that way from the beginning or at least a long time. Still interesting to hear about it. Lon
