If Georgetown residents and businesses are taking a beating, it is not by our hand, but by others.
This is so true. The GLRR, Inc. could be doing a lot of beating, but they are not. For example, #8 remains in Georgetown, still with "Georgetown Loop" lettering on it. Mark could have had #8 blowing her whistle everyday that the Loop wasn't running. Even if he had to use compressed air to do it, it would still be quite an in-your-face reminder of the operation that used to run up the Loop.
#8 is in a highly visible location that all Devil's Gate riders have to pass by in order to get to the parking area. Instead of simply having #8 sit there with "Georgetown Loop" lettering on her side, Mark could have placed a huge sign on her side that loudly exclaimed something like "No more train rides anymore. Go Home."
Down in the Denver area, GLRR, Inc. could have taken out billboards showing the derailed diesel precariously leaning on the high fill. Underneath, they could have a caption saying something like "X Million of your tax dollars paid for this".
