Others have quoted ‘sources’, then never revealed who they were. At CHRRPA, unless complete and absolute confidentiality has been requested, we have always followed up with names and/or organizations from which the information has been obtained.
Regarding the operability of #12 in Colorado, we deemed that distributing this information to the public prior to any ‘spin’ from Colorado Historical Society would be in the best interest of the general public and most of the railroading community.
Also note that we said '...*presently* need to remain anonymous...', indicating that the source(s) will be revealed at the appropriate time. In this case, Inspector Randy Austin of the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment stated the paperwork concerns with the locomotive.
