Have been enjoying all the letters on Otto Perry. I knew him back in the 1950's and '60s when I rode a lot of RMRRC excursions. He rode with us at times, but most often bought a ticket and chased for photos. It was always fun to look for Otto out on the line because he always found places nobody else thought of to set up his cameras.I used to visit him at his home at 3 Fox (had to be the shortest address in Denver)and buy his postcards of C&S engines etc. His home furnishings were very simple with the room lit with a single bare bulb hanging from the ceiling. One evening, while there, the neighbor woman stopped by to bring Otto ice cream--he loved it. Yes, those great photos and movies he took in such abundance have kept the real days of railroading alive and will for generations to come.
