South Park,
Otto was a railfan extroadinaire'. If he wasn't taking photos or working, many times he would hang out at 510 16th St (the old location of Caboose Hobbies).
To quote Jack Hailey (during an interview on a PBS special in Denver). He said that Otto "was one of the strangest guys you ever met". He then went on to recount an experience where Otto awoke him in the middle of the night to go to South Park to photograph Boreas Pass. Jack reminded Otto that he was married, etc., but Otto was insistent and Jack's wife finally acquiesed. he went on to relate riding in Otto's Ford, with Otto changing the destination, sleeping in the car and eating food from some old can that had been rolling around on the floor of the car.
Other people don't realize that Otto also had cats and an interest in aircraft. I met him once formally and saw him around the Denver Railroad scene until his death.
He was one of those oddballs to whom so many owe so much because he shared their obsession. He was able to spend an inordinate amount of time photographing because he had the time to spend.
His Photos and Films are invaluable.
