How well did Otto know many of the train crews? As on the GTLRRI last summer, when running specials, the crews would drop me off at hall tunnel, allow me to move around to take pictures and pick me up when I was ready to go (either east or west).
Otto no doubt knew the locations of sidings, schedules and crews. Did he do the same?
I know this is a NG Forum but I am gratefull Otto seemed to be fond of "Mountain Steam Railroading" in general. That is my interest as peaked by growing up on the old Moffat line, 40 miles west of Denver.
