Interesting you mention Elements. I have PS Elements on my lap top that I travel with, and find it works pretty well in doing all that needs to be done with today's RAW originals, give the accuracy of today's exposure systems and the incredible dynamic range of the digital technology. And it has some tools that I like that I can't find in the full version of PS. I VERY RELUCTANTLY caved in to the subscription service for the full version of PS, and have kinda gotten use to it. The price is not excessive for what you get. I still have my own CS4 on an older Mac and it still works pretty well, I keep it as a back up in case I get really pissed at Adobe.
