I'm a recent convert to Lightroom after years (decades?) of Photoshop/Bridge/Camera Raw and have to agree with Kevin. Things just seem to be easier to accomplish with less effort than they were with Photoshop/Bridge/Camera Raw. For DSLR work, I find that I almost never resort to any finish work in PS these days - it's 99% LR and much faster and easier to get consistent satisfying results. Now I'm starting to re-visit my library of film scans and attacking them in LR as well. The jury's still out on that, as I'm finding that I now want to go back and re-scan much of what I'd done 10 years ago and more as I'm now SURE (uh, huh) that I can do better. Like you, John, I have a number of images that I really, really want to have be technically better because I value the image.
GRRR! :-)
BTW, I long resisted Adobe's move to the subscription model, but I've caved. I would still prefer to "own" my software rather than rent it, but my PS version was getting pretty long in the tooth, and I really wanted to take a serious shot at moving to LR so I moved to the dark side. The Photographer's subscription, which includes PS, Bridge, Camera Raw, LR (the cloud version) and LR Classic (the desktop version which is what I, and almost everyone else, uses) are all included in the bundle at $9.99/month.
