I resisted Adobe's subscription service for a long time. But ultimately the combination of hardware and software upgrades and compatibility issues got to me and I caved in. I have Lightroom but have never really learned how to use it. As an older photog a lot of my stuff is old film, with all the issues of lack of latitude, fading, color shift, poor exposure, etc. In my experience Photoshop has better tools for dealing with those problems, in particular the ability to find detail in all those dark Kodachrome shadows. But learning how to use Lightroom would give me another tool. My newer digital images typically need little post processing. As I said my ten years plus experience of using Photoshop has given me ten years worth of bad habits.
