Color film to me always in fading light had a way of representing a not true image of what the mind was seeing at the time of the photo. Sometimes that made very good shots and other times not one that you want to save. But, the sage advise is never to throw a photo away and todays ability to doctor them lends credence to not throwing away. Whatever the finish, the subject was obviously worth taking many different shots to capture history.

Personally I remember dozens and dozens I wish I now had.
