I may not be old enough (my first flight into Stapleton was in 1968), but I don't remember seeing any signs about the museum there.

If I had seen signs directing me to a museum there, I'm still not sure I would have visited on a day when I was using the airport for its normal function, since I would have been on some sort of a schedule. Rather, I would have planned to visit the museum on a day when I was not meeting a flight.

I wonder if the same would be true for a museum in Chama? Would people not visit the museum on the same day they are riding, but rather visit the day before or after?

If the museum were open at the end of the day when people arrive back in Chama from their trip, perhaps some people would visit then, and others would be too tired and either skip it in favor of having dinner or visit the next day.
