I agree Greg, there are lots of better uses for that money. I was speculating under the guise of a specific grant by an individual to get one running again. From what I recall, Earl Knoob was in OY the last time it ran and said it literally was shaking itself apart, so I assumed a frame up restoration would be necessary to get-er-done. Yes, I'd really like to see one running again, and envy you all that saw the last runs, but not at the expense of other necessities and activities on the C&T.
Extending the season sounds good, but check the numbers with the bean counters. Once the color is gone from the Aspens and schools start back up, the ridership drops precipitously. Chama Steam I ran in late October and while warm in Chama, it snowed at Cumbres, enough to make it a magic experience, but not enough to plow. If someone can organize a winter trip that is able to use the Jordan Spreader and the flanger(s) then it might be a lot of fun.
