Scott, someday I would like to organize my accumulation of RR photos, and I have some very similar images showing the 487 pushing OY.
I recall them taken on a day that was exceptionally warm and I don't think the train made it much last the Narrows. Do you remember
that to be the 1978 rotary special?
Also, a few years back I have told that the OY might have some structural deteriation issues to the wooden main sills. If that is true, restoration might be somewhat of a challenge.
My guess is that Home Depot would stock such size timbers on a special order basis at best
