C+S to the RGS *PIC*

May 23, 2006 11:12PM
In about 1940 or 1941 (?) or whenever the C&S sold a bunch of their no longer needed narrow gauge freight cars to the RGS, these cars were loaded onto standard gauge flatcars on the D&RGW and shipped to the RGS. Where this was, I'm uncertain of. My dad, who was an operator/ telegrapher with the D&RGW on the broad gauge, went to Salida and took a picture of these cars and the flatcars that they were on. I posted this image on Trainorders.com a couple of nights ago, and someone wanted me to post it on this forum.
