Sounds to me like Iowa Pacific is serious about the SLRG as they are acquiring seven locomotives and are going to (insert gasp here) paint them.
Since I have becomed interested in the C&TS I have proposed many ideas about improving the Antonito end of the line. I have been informed in many posts they most of the time they are not feasible and always too expensive. I am as aware as anyone about the money problems.
My feeling is that the C&TS is different from most tourist lines in that has two distinct ends. It is not, nor should it be just an out-and-back operation.
I believe the 'Friends' group would probably do a fine job of running the railroad but there is nothing that I can see that tells me that IPH would not do well also. IPH does have the advantage as regards my past proposals in that some of them directly involved the SLRG. I have developed a rather crude drawing of my proposals and put it in PDF form. If anybody wants a copy they can email me and I will send it to them. I will not poist it on lin e as I don't a long winded discussion or any silly comments. Maybe my ideas are not feasible but have a right to dream just like anybody else.
My feeling is that whoever becomes the operator of the C&TS they get in it for the long haul and try to qwork closely with the one who did not get the contract.
