SteamFest

A steamfest over the C&TS is a cool idea. What might make it better would be to run standard gauge feeders from Alamosa to Antonito. Folks could take advantage of the larger assortment of motels in Alamosa, and get to ride a high(er) speed train down to Antonito.
They could make the change to NG via either a temporary / newly built three rail siding at the old depot in Antonito. or a crosswalk from the tail of the Antonito SG wye to the existing C&TS depot.
With multiple offerings they could spend the day riding various combinations of stuff up to Big Horn, Osier, Cumbres, and some on to Chama.
The Alamosa to Antonito stretch might even be something that UP would want to be involved in.
In any case think about the opportunities:
* UP Alamosa to Antonito (and back)
* Eureka
* 463 San Juan lookalike to Osier
* 484 to Cumbres with a mixed freight passenger
* 497 to Chama with a normal train
* Goose trips from Cumbres to Osier
* 489 Chama to Antonito
All of them leave from Antonito in the morning, with various consists and stops. Lots of opportunities for photogenic meets and run-bys, and plenty of steam.
