A rail-fest in Chama is a great idea. How much money does the city of Durango and the Durango & Silverton bring at a railfest. I bet a lot. Why not set one up and run it in the spring, or during color week. I would rather got Chama and Ant. for a rail-fest than Durango. It would be nice to see the Euraka, a shay or two, the geese, C&S equipment, ect going up cumbres or out at Big Horn. Do it from both ends of the railroad, not just Chama. You could also get some standard gauge steam if you had access to the depot in Ant..
Durango would not be doing it if it did not make lots of money, so why not try and do the same thing.
Also, what did the C&T do for the Durango rail-fest this year????? I herd that the C&T was present, but with what?
