A lot of museums have individual funds set up for their artifacts.
If a person wants to see a specific ship, street car or steam engine etc worked on, then they contribute to the fund until enough dollars are available to do some work and it also tells tha the management that a given engine or whatever is important to the members, riders etc.
Does the C&TS have anything like that?
