John,
From time-to-time 494 & 495 crop up here. From a lay person's point of view, it seems to me that there is nothing that would really condem either locomotive from running again.
As far as I know, they were parked by the D&RGW because their flue time ran out and they simply weren't needed anymore.
From your perspective is there anything to prevent them from running again other than dollars to replace missing parts?
