464 will probably be operating into 2020, but they will be controlling service days by only using it on days with longer trains. They used 464 up until Christmas but then put 152 on the trains between Christmas and New Year, as they tended to be shorter. If anyone is planning a visit, it would be wise to call ahead and find out which loco will be used when you are there. The 152 is a really good looking loco, so nothing wrong with a visit when it's operating.
BTW, Jim Boyd referred to the Huckleberry as "the best kept secret in the tourist railroad industry." An 8 mile round trip may not sound like much, but the line is scenic, running along parallel to Genesee Lake with views out to the lake from time to time. There are three trestles on the line and it is possible to get three or four shots in each direction if you don't dawdle getting back to your car and on to the next position. Crossroads Village has a steam sawmill, steam cider mill, a water powered grist mill and a collection of historic buildings, including the old Davison train station. A good time to visit is the first weekend in August for the annual Railfan Weekend. This features a photo special and shop tours as well as model railroad layouts set up in the village. Both locomotives should be in operation for this year's event.
