And that goes for the passenger cars as well. They have a regular repair rotation that keeps them in tip top shape. The combine that appears in a number of your photos was built from scratch by the Huckleberry shops, using period construction techniques. Plans are in the works to build more passenger cars. The big underframe timbers are already on site.
For those that object to the color scheme, they look great in black and white! Why the color scheme was chosen back in 1976 has been lost in the mists of time, but like "Grande Gold" it's been the RR's livery for 43 years and that pretty much makes it a heritage scheme! The two D&RGW and one RGS coach wore green for less than 30 years.
