Our first ever trip we stayed at the NG Inn. It was serviceable but they really helped when my wife was suffering from altitude sickness by moving us to a ground floor room we could drive right to. The restaurant next door was good but it is now a head shop. I understand they now have a patio so people can indulge. Last fall, we stayed at the Conejos River Lodge. It was comfortable but aged. I am 6 foot 4 and had to bend to get under the shower head but my wife did not like the muddy water that sprayed out. The restaurant is highly recommended for a filling breakfast. Bit of a drive west of town but good road. Have not tried the others. Staying in Chama next time.
