I pretty much agree with Hank -
I've stayed at the NGI several times, most recently in 2015, and since all I really need when out foaming is a hot shower and a clean bed it has always been fine for me. OTOH, if the café next door is now a pot shop then the hotel in town would be a lot more convenient for meals as there are two fairly good restaurants just across the street. I shared the same odd experience at the hotel as JBWX did in 2012, and have also heard that the (mis-)management problem referenced by John (below) has been solved.
