I have stayed at the Narrow Gauge Railroad Inn a number of times, most recently in March of 2016. The place is clean and basic, but showing it's age. The next door café, which had been pretty good, is now a pot shop. The Narrow Gauge Railroad Inn website advertises the back wing of the motel as a place to stay and smoke pot, so I'll be staying in Alamosa in the future. It's a 30 minute drive away, unless you try speeding, in which case it will take longer while the local cop in Estrella writes you a ticket!
The two Mexican restaurants across the street from the Steam Train Hotel in Antonito are both good value and have good food.
