Final selection from Blonay-Chamby where it rained all day- just right to make a Brit feel at home
Class ABe 4/4 Railcar 35 - built SIG / SAAS / MFO 1908 -Ex-Berninabahn (Bb), Rhaetian Railway (Rhb), dropping down hill towards Blonay
I returned to Blonay on the rear platform of a train hauled by DFB3 - apologies about the elbow in the picture.
At Blonay Gare - preparations are made to gravity shunt the train round DFB3 - it will leave the train on the gradient having propelled it out of the platform, and having tied it down, will drop back past a turnout and with the road set to the platform, the train will be rolled back into the platform, allowing DFB3 to run past the turnout and set back onto the train ready for the next run to Chamby.
A 'restrained livery', not the most garish I saw while in Switzerland - 'Vevey - Les Pleiades' Train des Etoiles - just visible on the left is one end of the railcar I caught back to Vevey.
Meanwhile, right at the end of the NG line in Vevey was this Mixed gauge turntable, with a cutout in the stone wall to allow it to rotate!
