Gavin,
Thank you for this extensive coverage of your train holiday! It reminds me of how many lines are still (or again) on my to-do list.
The three blue locomotives were all built at the same place, at the former O&K factory near Berlin.
The little 0-4-0 Diesel "Abelia" was built in 1958 as one of the many Ns2f type 35 HP diesels of LKM.
The bigger 0-6-0 Is of the later V10C 100 HP design and was built there in 1971. It spent it's working life in a sand pit of a Deutsche Reichsbahn owned concrete sleeper manufacturing plant and was stored operational since ca. 1990. We have been able to buy it off the company that bought the lot of 5 identical locos last year.
It is technically operational but sill needs a lot of TLC until we can use it on our trains. -> it still remains unnamed as it was not yet offilially launched into service.
Very best Regards,
Urias
Ps: having about 8 footplate rides through the green house tomorrow - on duty ;-)
