Folks:
We already have a proposal (now 1-2 years old) from a pre-fab building manufacturer in Alamosa who distributes product manufactured in Nebraska. As I said in my previous post, both the New Mexico and Colorado SHPO's were favorably disposed to a project in Antonito, with the caveat that the 2:12 roof pitch of a 'standard building' be increased to 4:12, which is the roof pitch on 'Fort Knox.' This is also closer to the precedent buildings many of which had 8:12 roofs. Again, I have been busy over the winter, and circumstances in Chama have diverted the attention of the Board and potential funders....
The Chama Car Repair Facility has also had several hands review it and a year ago there was interest from the Friends board to pursue fundraising for this and several other projects. But the very survival of the railroad has intervened, and this matter too has been put on the back burner.
