AS Jim stated, if it is out of sight, it need not be historic and would be cheaper.
Check out what Illinois Railway Museum has done. They had agricultural combine sheds built that ably protect their equipment in all kinds of bad climate. Said the price was pretty reasonable for the size. Some of them are HUGE.
You might want to check with some ag building companies. They may even donate the build time.
