Rick, When I was asked to submit some budget estimates for the facility the plan was for the facility to be built down near the wye. I was not party to the selection of a site but I would suspect the idea was to be close to where most of the rolling stock that needed attention was and 19 would be available year round as the facility would in use almost continuously by any Friends that were available. Antonito does seem to be the outlaw member of the C&TS family, but one thing is for sure; there are definately two ends to a railroad and Antonito does play second fiddle to Chama. The shed over the repair track would go a long way toward making Antonito a more useful facility and make the area seem more like the eastern terminus of the C&TS that it is. Hopefully progress will again be made toward the Antonito project as I'm sure the donor of the facility wants to see his donation in use.
