That is not correct. 479 was on the Salida to Gunnison passenger train in November 1923 right after they were received and K28s were tried on the Alamosa to Durango passenger train that fall also. In the case of Chama to Durango, they were pulled off until later in 24 due to poor track on that section of the line. 470s were indeed used in freight and mixed service, but the statement that they were moved to passenger jobs in 25 just does not match the documentation. Information is from D&RGw train register books and newspaper accounts.
