...it seems some actions are being taken to minimize the damage. And some good folks deserve credit for this. The bad news is....why the heck is everyone taken by surprise. This is not a new issue. It has happened before. Indeed it is an inherent and obvious kind of "conflict" between an operating tourist railroad and a museum coexisting in the same space that occurs in one form or another virtually every day. My suggestion to the Friends would be that they raise this issue with the Commission and suggest some rules and procedures be put into place so this kind of issue becomes a routine management decision. Hopefully SOMEBODY at the Friends can grasp the big picture and make something happen.
Edit.....I am told rules have in fact been established. So I guess the problem is getting folks to pay attention to them.
