I think the bigger issue is more than just that of the rider gondolas. There have been more alterations in and about the Chama yard in the past 60 days than I have seen in years. While I support having the C&TS be a viable tourist RR, some of the changes in my view continue to degrade the historic nature of the RR.
Specifically the rebuilt ashpit has altered this area and track function of the loading track. Building the access crossing next to the depot right in the middle of the yard alters this scene as well. And it looks like it is going to get more of that gray gravel ballast (vs. cinders) further changing the look of the yard tracks.
These may seem like small things to many but they cumulatively degrade the historic composition of the Chama yard and I am wondering out loud why more historically sensitive options were not implemented.
