I have some news, fresh (relatively) from the C&TS shops. During my trip to Chama in late June, some of the shop personal and myself were talking about the locomotive restorations that have been scheduled. Apparently, #463 is going to be moving to the shop in Chama as soon as the #489 is done (October is what I heard), and that the #463's restoration has been completely paid for by some guy in Japan. After that, #492 is supposed to be restored. Apparently, #497 has a bad boiler, and restoring her would be a large ordeal, but #492 has a boiler in very good shape. So the plan as I heard it is to use parts of #497's running gear to get #492 on her feet, and then work more on #492 after her first season (flues etc.). If all goes as planed, we should see a K-27 and a K-37 under steam again on the C&TS in the near future.
