Intersting point of view. Having been an employee for a short part of my career, and never having been in a union, but having had the experience of trying to get things done in a unionised shop, all I can say is that I hope it never comes to that, and that the RGRPC can and will take positive action soon.
As for the State Employee way, I've also worked for a state, and some goverment agencies. We had square yards of dead wood that could not be fired. IMHO that's a can of worms to be avoided at all costs.
