George, the bottom line is that the work NEEDS to be close by the wood shop until the CRF/ Chama is built. This isn't a leadership issue, there just isn't a good alternative for now. I think the issue is resolving itself already with big work going over to the Antonito CRF already, such as the 053 car. (Heck, it's ALL big work)!

The 054 has been spotted in the swamp because it was in such poor condition that the R/R felt it would fall apart on the trip over. They realize it is going to take awhile to finish it and have spotted it out of the way. You might recall that the 0503 caboose overhaul is being done down on a swamp track already with a big pup tent over it because the Friends realized it was going to be a multi year undertaking. I would imagine that any other big project like the spreader or a caboose rebuild will be moved out of the way as well, with only cars that can be finished in a work session nearby.

Issues like moving the "camp cars" between work sessions to hide them could be addressed, but that is partially up to R/R management if they want to take the manpower to do it several times each summer. Their needing to be where they are at now is essential for at least the two weeks of work sessions in June and August.
