I have known the Pueblo Chieftain "reporter" Erin Smith over several years and, try as she might, she's really not up to the task of covering the C&TSRR. She's a resident of Antonito who calls herself the "Antonito correspondent" for the paper. Would be nice to ignore her articles as JAC suggests, but she's usually the only member of the press who comes to Commission meetings, takes copious notes, and tries very hard to figure out what it all means. A couple months ago she told me she found Bo helpful.
The problem is that Pueblo is the home of State Senator Abel Tapia, Chairman of the all-powerful Joint Budget Committee of the Colorado Assembly -- them's the folks that have the most to say about Colorado appropriations for the C&TSRR's. Sure would be nice if all you Colorado railfans let the editors of the Pueblo paper know that the C&TSRR deserves better.
