Darren,
Consider the fact that before the CHS/Railstar fiasco that the Loop was operated successfully and profitably for decades by the prior concessionaire, and I doubt that they ever had to reschedule an opening day. The former Loop operators were faithful and diligent stewards of a property that they did not even own. They often invested their own sweat and money to bring the loop to a state of excellence. They thought ahead, planned ahead, and in every way seem to exemplify what any owner would want a tenant to be. I don't understand why CHS was unhappy with the prior operator, but now that they are drinking their own *****, I'm sure it is a bitter taste indeed.
Now the CHS is like the proverbial monkey with his hand stuck in the jar. Do they have the guts to let go of the "banana" and get out of this mess, or are they too proud to do the right thing? I once thought that Railstar could eventually pull it off, but with the allegations that are surfacing about the operation and treatment of the locomotives, I feel myself sinking into a more and more hopeless state concerning the future of the loop. It used to be a great ride, but I would be nervous to take my family on it now.
