Hell no, the line to Salt Lake was once narrow gauge.
I can't answer your question, but your picture sure brings back memories. I took my family on what was to be one of the last trips of the old Zephyr. We rode as far as Glenwood Springs.
We had to return by bus to Denver because the return train was blocked by the bad slide at Thistle.
