I just finished editing, and burning a master DVD of "Last Streamliners Through the Rockies"
In that we have
(a)4 unit set of F-units on the California Zephyr
(b)3 unit set of F's including 5771 leading, in 1981 chase with Sound Movies
(C)single unit F on last run of "Royal Gorge" in 1967(not 5771).
(d)1956 shot of an F3 on a Nuclear train to Rocky Flats.
(e)Shots in Pueblo I mentioned that include the Alamosa Passenger train(4-6-2), and the Royal Gorge with FT power.
One other interesting side note. In the 1967 Royal Gorge last run, and 1970 Winter trip on the Rio Grande Zephyr freight trains are passed, and most have early geeps, and GP30's. F7 5771 was saved, and so was 3011(GP30)at the Colorado RR Museum. 3011 is leading a freight in a siding in one shot. Nice to know these were saved.
I also included scenes from 1994 of Amtrak Zephyr between Moffat Tunnel and Dotsero region. One eastbound had a Rio Grande diesel leading, but not an F-Unit.
To revert back to NG content, the 1981 trip footage was part of a larger trip(honeymoon), that included C&TS, D&S, and 8444 to Sterling, Co,
besides the Zephyr Chase.
This includes shots we did at the Animas River bridge, when we walked down the line 3 miles each way from Ah Wilderness Guess Ranch in July. This train was doublheaded K28's, and they split the engines, to cross the bridge, later Bradshaw reinforced the bridge for the larger engines.
