Key may be the diesel. Did the Burlington have diesels by the time the Alamosa Train was taken off? It appears possible, since there is other RG steam here also. What Jerry Says about the prospector is possible as well. The photographer took the D&RGW to Salt Lake City, and on to the SP at Ogden, since the next shots are crossing the Great Salt Lake(in our SP show coming this fall).
Not sure how different the Prospector looked from the "Royal Gorge" train at this time.
If I am right on my guess, that the platform side of the Pueblo Depot faced east, then these shots were made in the morning. The shot we had on the Royal Gorge in 1967 had the train arriving at Pueblo with the depot on the Engineer Side(Right Side)or west side of the train.
For what it is worth I noted another coach sitting on the same track as this steam passenger train, so it could be an "overflow" car, as maybe was seen in the photos JAC posted. Neat shots of the Alamosa Train, especially the snow shot!
