Unlike most people, I enjoy the trip from Antonito to Big Horn and on to Osier. I love watching hte arid valley change to the wooded hill mountains. The scenery changes subtlely from the dry washes and sage and so forth. My first trip on the line, there was a prairie dog village on the inside of one of the curves.
I try to ride from both ends of the line to Osier and back when I visit. The West side is magnificent RR action. The Eastern side is I find more interesting to watch the geography change. Ar one point, the cuts for the RR have verticle sides and at another they are slopped as normally depending on the rock/soil underneath.
Just my opinion.
