Re: Why Chama to Antonito?

On the surface, the Big Horn to Antonito end seems to offer less interest than other parts of the line. However, I have come to appreciate this section more as I have learned more about the Pinon-Juniper life zone and the incredible geologic history of the San Juan valley.
This part of the ride is spectacular in its own way, but is more subtle with its beauty. If you get a chance, take a trip with Rich Muth as the Docent; thereafter, riding this part of the line will be a much richer experience.
