I don't see where there is really anything to disagree about here - on the C&TS you are both saying that the train crews should inspect the track after going into emergency. (IMHO this seems like it should apply to the D&S, GTLRR and SVRY or any tourist operation - it just makes sense).
In reality the only only point of disagreement seems to be the policies of different RRs running in different parts of the country, policies which have been developed by the respecive railroads over the past 150 years (give or take). Unless or until the FRA rules on this, neither policy is right, neither is wrong, in one case the RR has decided that a thorough inspection by a track specialist is in order after an emergency stop, on the UP, they have found this unnecessary.
So, can we please agree to agree and let the issue go?
