That's the kind of response I'd like to see - a positive spin on how RtR can benefit the community. I have ridden Cycle Oregon many times. They have established a trust, funded by the ride, which subsidizes capital improvements in the towns the ride visits. A very positive situation.
It is unfortunate that group cycling has developed such a name for itself. And I can understand motorists who get frustrated by the amount of road they take up. I only wish and hope that they keep in mind that this situation happens very infrequently and that the bikes are being ridden by taxpayers just like the rest of us. A little courtesy and restraint is called for on both sides. The major difference here is that a car being driven in anger and frustration becomes an implement which could cause great harm. The opposite cannot be said...
