"The first two are standard gauge, and the rest narrow. Are there any others with more than ten miles of track, original engines and cars, and more-or-less intact original servicing facilities, depots, etc.? Does Sumpter Valley still have their original depot, enginehouse, etc.?? Are there any others besides these six that are not just Disney-style "tourist railroads"???"
Why is 10 miles of track a criteria to be historic? Why is having original depots and service facilities criteria for being historic?
There are still two original SVRy depots. However neither are near present day SVRR, they are at each end of the original 80 mile main line. The two story depot in Prairie City is a museum. The renovated Baker City Depot is still in use by UP and Baker County Parks and Recreation as offices. SVRR uses it for Board meetings every second Saturday of each month. (The Board meets this coming Nov. 12 @ 6:30 PM, and ALL members are invited to attend any Board meeting.)
SVRy is definitely not near any amusement park. The largest passenger traffic happens on Flea Market weekends in Sumpter, three times per season. SVRR transports rail fans, historians, photographers, school children as well as "touristas". All are welcome to visit the yards, climb into the cab of a locomotive, ride in the coach or open cars, or in the cupola of caboose #5. Members will see that a visitor gets a tour and their questions answered in a friendly manner.
All of the aforementioned RRs including SVRy are tourist roads, and historic as well. Some even have their original names!
