I'm not familiar with the exact device used at Big Horn, but most of those annunciators were home-brewed contraptions that put some kind of audible signal on the DS phone that was easily identifiable by the dispatcher as to which one it was. They didn't use the Morse wire at all for that.
The one we had at Whitewater, south of Grand Jct on the Montrose branch put a "didah didah" tone on the DS fone when the train passed, as I recall.
