Gregory Raven's link is excellent. Thanks for taking the time to research and document the legacy of the railroad's communications.
The recollections of John Norwood were particularly interesting.
I am curious as to what infrastructure was in place to power the communication circuit. Your research mentions the "gravity cells" and dry cell batteries, and the schematic describes "repeaters" which I assume were merely DC carrier amplifiers. Line loss and insulator migration must have been enormous, particularly at the frequency spectrum utilized by telegraphones.
Is there documentation of "repeater" stations between Chama and Antonito? Was there a "communications" department per se who maintained them?
Equally intersting was the revelation that there was a single primary telegraph line that served the entire San Juan and Chili divisions.
Good Read!
