John, You missed the point of my email. I said folks could send me the email letters, and I would PRINT THEM ALL, and then MAIL(Snail Mail) the bunch to the commission. Getting a stack of letters at once might make more of an impression, and its harder to ignore a pile than one at a time.
In this whole scenario, we have to remember that times change! In 1969-70 when this railroad was formed as the C&TS, there was still a working Rio Grande Narrow Gauge railroad over in Durango. Now thats been privatized, and since so much more time has gone by, perhaps the time to seize the moment is now.
The up-side of all this might just be that RIO GRANDE is a SELLING POINT, for the tourists too.
Then the railroad could really boast about its authentic narrow gauge railroad. It least it would be a little more authentic. Then maybe someday, when coaches need to be built, they can make them look like the old San Juan cars. They wouldn't be original of course, but at least good replicas. Hey, if you don't strive for the top, you might not get very high!
It still blows me away that places like Knotts Berry Farm, and Huckleberry letter their stuff for Rio Grande, and the place that actually ran Rio Grande engines won't!!!!! Doesn't seem right to me. This is not something that is going to cost a lot of money folks, its just paint, as John Cole likes to tell me!!!

In my letter to the Commission I am going to offer up $250.00 of my own money to cover any costs of painting the first tender. Are there any other guys out there willing to match this for a second, third, and eventually fourth loco.
If so, then there is no money issue here. I see it as a win-win for everyone.

PS...Who would be a good commissioner to go to on this issue?
