Another question,
If some find it upsetting that the Ohio Central, which is a "real" railroad as much as the GTW was, and now owns said GTW locomotive and letters it Ohio Central are these same people upset that the Rio Grande relettered and even renumbered the ex Florence & Cripple Creek locomotives or that the C&S relettered and re numbered the ex Denver Boulder & Western locomotives?
I would agree that musems should paint and letter equipment in an historically accurate fashon. As for cars with long service lifes, pick one point or as the Colorado RR Museum does, letter one side one way and the other side another. As for operating railroads, they have every right and are actually being historically accurate by lettering and painting equipment for themselves (as evidenced by the above examples)
